V-Sat Very Small Aperture Terminal is a communication system which provides connectivity through satellite.
V-Sat enables communication connectivity via satellite of voice, video, fax and data to all locations, however its main advantage is providing such services to rural areas.
V-Sat offers a cost-effective solution for areas where telephone services are unavailable, unreliable or too expensive.
The V-Sat system complies with the international telecommunication standard and supports a wide range of telephony equipment through analog and digital interfaces as well as standard signaling systems.
Toll Quality voice compression
V-Sat ensures the most efficient use of satellite bandwidth by allowing the transmission of voice signals at very low bit rates. The system provides Toll Quality compressed voice at rates as low as 4.8Kbps, and 8Kbps delivering a superior Quality.
This enables to transmit between 8-10 telephone calls instead of one standard uncompressed telephone conversation in the quality similar to standard conversation.
Applications
V-Sat extends the reach of telecommunication services to new areas, providing a transparent interface to the user.
For private networks, the V-Sat provides a self-contained network with PABX functions, which also acts as an interface between an existing PABX network and the nearest PUBLIC EXCHANGE. (Where deregulation permits).
The V-Sat is a modular system that can grow as per the specific requirements of each client.
V-Sat has various operational options such as:
Point-to-point (between 2 remote stations) Mesh (any remote station can communicate with another remote station) Star configuration (every call must pass trough the central system)
